The Brilliance Of Salah
While individual awards are subjective, Mohamed Salah overwhelmingly won the FWA Footballer of the Year award. This put him back up there in conversations spinning around the Ballon d’Or. In addition to another season of personal, unparalleled brilliance and impact, he has broken and tied records at a clip that has become in and of itself overwhelming. He has not only maintained his high standards for yet another season, long gone are the days of the “One Season Wonder,” but he has again seemingly elevated his game to new heights, solidifying his status as both a Premier League and Reds icon and a genuine contender for being considered among the league’s all-time best.

Salah’s personal accolades almost seem like part of the package when he came to Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, though we expected him to play well, I don’t think anyone besides him thought he would consistently push the heights of the English League to even higher points. This season alone Salah has set the stats boards alight with a bevy of new records.

● Most Goal Involvements Away From Home in a Single Season: He set a new record with 27 goal involvements in away Premier League matches.

At the brisk, vibrant age of 32 (I’m 34) and having inked another contract in the past couple weeks to stay at Anfield, Salah’s hunt for individual accolades can continue. I, like other Reds, am incredibly happy to see his continued reign at Liverpool. Some of the integral pieces to the team will shift this summer. TAA heading to Real Madrid has definitely rocked a lot of boats and forced a lot of questions to be answered. But if there is anything Salah has taught us with his remarkable time here; Just Believe.

He has continued to be one of the most important sparks to our campaigns. You can also count on him to be 110% motivated and locked into believing right along side us. He has also fulfilled many a promise during his time here, including the one made at the end of last season as we grappled with the looming Jurgen Klopp shaped absence. The season had turned into a quieter send off than expected, but Salah took to Insta to thank the fans and declare his personal intention to get us back up on our perch.
Subsequently, in a season where Liverpool quietly imposed Slot’s regime, Salah and Co delivered number twenty and fulfilled that promise.
He has hinted in recent interviews that Salah intends to bring home another Champions League this next season. Could the Egyptian King cap another record-breaking year with another prophetic delivery? Color me intrigued.
