Match Notes:

Liverpool welcomes the Hammers to Anfield after beating the Premier League champions in an enthralling encounter at the weekend. The Reds looked back to their old selves, solid at the back and creating lots of chances going forward. Mohammed Salah netted the winner with a signature assist from Alisson, while Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez looked like a formidable pairing in defense. With the fixtures beginning to pile up, Jurgen Klopp may use this match as an opportunity to rotate his team. Diogo Jota’s injury means Darwin Nunez will likely start, hoping to get a few more goals under his belt. While Nunez showed some promise off the bench against City, his decision-making was admittedly poor.

Though West Ham has had a fairly underwhelming start to the season, their form in recent weeks has picked up, with two wins and a draw in their last three. David Moyes will bring an organized West Ham team to Anfield and look to exploit the home side on the counter. It will be interesting to see if Trent Alexander Arnold earns his place in Liverpool’s back line, as that could be a point of a target for the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Saïd Benrahma, and Pablo Fornals. I think it’ll be a fairly tight game but Liverpool will comfortably earn three points.

Score Prediction:

Liverpool 2 – 0 West Ham
