The Dreaded DGW (double game weeks)

But before that… the small matter of GW18

A short lineup of matches will ensure lots of head scratching going into the deadline.

Personally, I have opted for the Free Hit in order to get an optimal points return, and to ensure I will still have my team in place for GW19.

Below you will find the shortened list of games for GW18. With not alot to choose from, the player pool will lead to interesting choices. How will your team fare? Will wholesale changes affect your DGW points? As the saying goes, “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!”

Double GW 19

Consider playing your Wildcard after this weekend of fixtures. As touted early in the season, there are plenty of Double GW points available in 19. If you have managed to keep your team in shape with all these games, injuries and tough decisions regarding how and when to best utilize your perks or free transfers, I would recommend using the wildcard later in the season. Who knows exactly what problems your team could face down the line in this highly irregular season.

Keep your cards close to your chest for this one, and start begging the football gods for leniency!

The Top 10

Here’s a roundup of the AS League’s top 10 players at this point in the season.

The FPL Scout

Do not neglect the built-in expert opinions on the app. Even seasoned “veterans” like myself are not too shy to say that we consult this advice. You ultimately have to use your own judgment, however it may help to sway your opinion if you are uncertain. I am currently languishing in mid-table obscurity, although I am certain I would be a lot closer to the bottom without the many helpful tips available in app.

A quick look on the FPL app will bring you to the scout section. A valuable tool each week for any FPL player. DGW (Double Game Week) has arrived! Be sure to brush up on your players and favored teams to perform highly in this period. After all, this could be the chance you have been waiting for to make your challenge for the Top 10.

The very best of luck to all the FPL teams, and we will see you on the other side of the dreaded Double Game Week. But beware – there is another DGW coming up soon!
