Antonio Conte and Spurs welcome Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, both sides having secured their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Reds were able to beat an in-form Napoli 2-0 while Spurs had to work extremely hard to beat Marseille and top their group. Though Spurs sit 3rd in the Premier League, their form has dropped off in recent weeks, with two losses in their last three matches. The loss of Heung-Min Son to an eye injury means they’ll have to rely on the likes of Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevsky, and Lucas Moura to get the job done upfront.
Liverpool sits 8th and is still without an away win domestically. Tottenham will be difficult to play against and will look to frustrate the Reds. Conte’s side played a major role in stopping Liverpool from winning the league title last season, securing a draw at Anfield. They’ll have to defend as a unit, and even though they’re playing at home, Conte will likely instruct his men to sit deep and hit on the counter. It will be a close encounter, but Liverpool needs the points, and the desire will be reflected in the way they play.
