Good day fellow Reds! Sunday morning at 11:30 am EST, Liverpool hosts top four hopefuls Chelsea FC.  Chelsea currently sit on sixty-six points in third place. That’s good enough to be two points ahead of Spurs, although that could change based on Spurs result on Saturday morning.  The weather looks to be gorgeous, with temps close to fifty with a mix of clouds and sun.

As big as this match is, it takes a back seat to the 30th anniversary of the disaster at Hillsborough. One can only hope that even the worst of the Chelsea supporters will be classy enough to not be dicks when it comes to the moment of silence before the match. However, based on that horrific video of some “fans” singing a song about Salah, I wouldn’t hold my breath. But one can hope. JFT 96.

Injuries

For the first time in what seems in ages, there is nothing substantial on the Liverpool injury front.  Gini was held out of the Porto match with a minor back issue, but that was only for precaution. Adam Lallana also looks to be given the green light this weekend. The biggest news though, is that OX was able to play sixty minutes in a closed-door friendly this past week. He was no worse for wear afterward. It is still too soon for him to make the first team this week, but it appears it will be sooner rather than later.

Chelsea has even less injury news as Marcus Alonso made his return in the Europa League, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has overcome back problems, starting the last to league matches.

Previous Form

Liverpool’s previous five league match results are as follows:  W(3-1 SoTon). W(2-1 Spurs). W(2-1 Ful). W(4-2 Burnley). D(0-0 Eve). Those results, being good enough to take thirteen from fifteen points, continue to propel to LFC towards the top of the table.

Chelsea’s previous five league match results are as follows: W(2-0 WHU). W(3-0 Brighton). W(2-1 Cardiff). L(2-2 Eve). D(1-1 Wolves). That has them taking ten from a possible fifteen points.

Lineup and Prediction

At this point in the Campaign the side sort of picks itself doesn;t it.  Alisson at GK. Trent and Robbo at tthe full backs. VDD and Matip at CB. If the midfield isnt broke why fix it? Hendo, Keita, and Fabinho. The front three as always, Mo, Bobby, and Sadio.

I think this is the anti-fourteen season. There will be no slips. No Demba Ba. Chelsea will come to Anfield and leave not knowing what hit them. 4-0 Liverpool and Mo Salah will prove his c lass.  Look for the King to respond to those douchebag’s songs by lighting them up on the scoreboard.
