Match Notes:

Eddie Howe’s side welcome Liverpool to St. James’ Park in match week 3. The Magpies come into the match off the back of a 1-0 loss to champions Manchester City but looked unplayable in their opener where they beat Aston Villa 5-1. Being at home with the full force of the crowd behind them, they will look to play on the front foot. They won’t be afraid to attack Liverpool, and the likes of Alexander Isak, Miguel Almiron, and Anthony Gordon will likely cause Liverpool’s backline some problems. Eddie Howe has big ambitions for his team and will want to make a statement with a big win.

Liverpool have also had a decent start to the season, with their attack looking dangerous. However, they will likely miss Ibrahima Konate, who’s been outstanding at the back. The game will be won or lost in the midfield, and I think Endo will have a huge impact on this. If he starts for the Reds, he’ll have a big job protecting the back line from Newcastle’s pacey counters. I think both teams will concede, but Liverpool’s lethal attack will be too much for Newcastle, and the Reds will take a hard-earned 3 points.

Score Prediction:

Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool
