First Name: Yasser Last Name: Larouci DOB: January 1, 2001 Birthplace: El Oued, Algeria Position: LB Instagram: @larouci.yasseroff |
Versatile and adaptable, Yasser Larouci arrived at Liverpool as a winger, but has made a name for himself playing in defense. The Algerian prospect came to Northwest England in 2017 from Le Havre Athletic Club in France. The French club has been extremely successful in developing some of the game’s most recognizable stars, having been the home of Paul Pogba, Riyadh Mahrez, Benjamin Mendy, Lassandara Diara and Dimitri Payet.
Having captained their U17 side, Larouci turned down La Havre’s offer of a contract extension and tested out the free agency market, first having a trial at Southampton before signing with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.
Since joining Liverpool, Larouci has made appearances for Liverpool’s U18 and U23 sides, as well as the Liverpool senior squad. He made his debut appearance for the Reds’ first team on 5 January 2020 in an FA cup victory over Everton.
The highlight of Larouci’s young career with the Reds came in 2019, when the promising defender helped the Liverpool U18 squad defeat Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup.
Internationally, Larouci is a citizen of both Algeria and France, and is eligible to represent either nation.
Liverpool fans will hope that he fulfills his great potential as we look forward towards the career of one of our most promising players.
