Liverpool vs Chelsea Super Cup Preview

Good Day Fellow Reds!!!! Today, Our six time, six time, six time, six time, six time, SIX TIME Champions of Europe take on Chelsea F.C. in the Super Cup. The Reds make hopefully the first of two trips to Istanbul this season. The match kickoffs at 3 pm ET on TNT in the States. The weather looks to be sublime, with temperatures in the mid- seventies and a zero percent chance of precipitation.

Injuries

For Liverpool, the most glaring absence will be the three time, three time, three time, Golden Glove winner Alisson. After a trifecta of personal trophies in the Premier League, Champions League, and Copa America, Alisson looks to be out for the next few weeks after sustaining a calf injury against Norwich City. The only other name on the list is Nathaniel Clyne, who will be out until further notice with an ACL.

For the Plastics, the list is a bit more extensive. Willian is questionable with a knee injury. Even though he sat out against the Scum, he made the trip to Turkey. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is out for an indefinite amount of time, due to an Achilles tendon rupture, which also is plaguing  Callum Hudson-Odoi. Last but not least is Antonio Rudiger, not to be confused with Rudy Rudiger. His meniscus issue has him out for now, but should return sooner and not later.

How They Got Here

For a long story short…For Liverpool, It was A CORNER TAKEN QUICKLY….YESSSSS!!!!!!!! Then…In Sunny Spain, We won it Six Times!

Chelsea beat Eintracht ( sorry, I think I just sneezed). Then beat Arsenal, in which both teams had to travel to the dark side of the moon for that match. But you know UEFA’s motto…C.R.E.A.M. or maybe that was Wu-Tang, hard to remember at this point.

Lineups and Predictions

Here we go guys! By far my favorite part of the column each week. I get to be the gaffer and pick my squad, along with the score and the Man of the Match. So here goes

In goal we have “YO Adrian, I did it!!!”. In front of him we have “The Best Left Back in the Worlddd” Andy Robertson. At the Center backs, I think the rotation will have Joel Matip pair with Big Virg. And trust me, you don’t wanna eff up the rotation. On the right flank you have Liverpool’s own Trent Alexander-Arnold feeding crosses into the box like its his job. Look for the mid-three to be the same as last match. Fabinho, Gini, and “Captain Trophy Lifter” Jordan Henderson. The front three regains its old familiar look with Sadio, Bobby, and Mo.

Its a known fact that we go to Istanbul to lift trophies. We win this 3-1 and Mo continues his one season wonder form as MOTM!

And on that note, a special video tribute to our plastic London mates! All I ask is you change the words from five time to six times. Up the Reds!
