Liverpool vs Bayern Munich
Tomorrow night at the Allianz Arena in Munich Germany, Liverpool F.C look to advance to the Quarter Finals of this years Champions League. Standing in their way is a Bayern Munich team that has looked to have regained form since their clash at Anfield three weeks ago. Both clubs come into this contest drawn 0-0, so everything is up for grabs. Liverpool do hold a slight advantage though in that they held Bayern without an away goal. This could be a huge factor, as if we get one, I’m not sure that they can get two. The weather looks to be a balmy 40 degrees at kickoff, with a 50% chance or precipitation. Good news USA Reds! You can catch the match on TNT at 4pm EST.
Injuries and Suspensions
For Liverpool, other than the two most obvious injuries, being Ox and Gomez, the list is quite short for this match. The biggest hit that they take is Naby Keita is ruled out with a undisclosed injury. Trent and James Milner are both probable with what is being labeled as muscle issues. Look for Trent to start at RB. No suspensions.
Bayern Munich on the other hand have some issues to overcome. While Kingsley Coman and David Alaba look to be able to feature in some capacity, Arjen Robben is out with a torn calf muscle. However, Joshua Kimmich will be suspended for the yellow card he picked up in the first leg of the tie. Thomas Muller is also still serving the suspension he picked up against Ajax for going TMNT on Nicholas Tagliafico which you can see here
Lineup and Prediction
Alisson will be a brick wall for the Reds in goal. Trent and Birthday Boy Andy Robertson will man the fullback postions, right and left respectively. Look for Fabinho to move back to the holding role in the midfield after his wonderful cameo as a CB in the first leg. Gini will be on one side and I figure the captain has to start in a game of this magnitude, so look for Hendo to be on the other side. If, for some ungodly reason, it’s Milly and Hendo flanking Fabinho, you’ll be able to hear him singing “Stuck in the Middle with You”, all the way from Bavaria. The front three of course picks itself with Mo, Bobby, and Sadio up front. The Reds will win 2-0 and in the process the Traveling Kop will remix Allez Allez Allez, to Allianz Allianz Allianz.
The MOTM will be The Egyptian King, reclaiming his rightful place on the throne! He’s on a verge of a huge game, after being so unlucky not to find his name on the scoresheet the last few weeks!
Safe travels to everyone making the trip to cheer on our Redmen! Hopefully there will be no disgusting reports of fan violence like there was after the PSG ManU match. There’s never any place for that, in life and especially in sports.
UP THE MIGHTY REDS!! ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ!!
