I was born in Corning, NY and but have lived in Texas for almost all of my life. I grew up playing soccer and have loved the sport from a young age. Even though it was tough to watch English soccer (or really any foreign soccer) for most of my life here in the US, I did spend many hours watching indoor soccer (the best you could get on TV!) and I loved the World Cup.
My first big footy experience was attending the group stage match between Bulgaria and Nigeria in the 1994 World Cup held here in the US. It was an amazing time – we sat with several thousand Nigerian fans and experienced national team soccer at a very high level. It was an experience that sold me on football completely.
I became a Liverpool fan after the 2006 World Cup and started following them then. Since 2010, I have been an every-game watcher. Dirk Kuyt is easily my favorite player that has ever donned the beautiful red although the kid, Trent Alexander-Arnold, is second and chasing!
