Timucin Uras

One of the founding members of AmericanScouser, Timucin is originally from Istanbul, Turkey. As the grandson of Esat Kaner, one of the top players in the long history of Fenerbahce FC, he grew up as a fan of football and of course, Fenerbahce.  With limited access to games from across Europe in those days,Timucin’s first encounter with Liverpool was watching Bruce Grobbelaar at the 1984 European Cup throwing off his opponents with his shaky legs dance during penalty kicks. Over the years, watching the Liverpool greats created a huge passion for the club. Learning more about the history of the club and meeting other only fueled his love for the Reds.

Timucin grew up watching and playing the game throughout his childhood in Turkey. He also played at the college level in the UK as well as in the USA and still participates in adult soccer leagues albeit in a much more limited capacity compared to the earlier days. He met his wife, a fellow soccer player, in college and they have two daughters who have played the game over the years at club level.

Starting the blog was an idea to share his passion for the game and the club in the US. AmericanScouser was born with the goal of bringing Liverpool fans in the USA together and become a valuable resource for current as well as future fans of the club. The goal of the blog has been to create a site that will allow current fans to share their passion for the club while being a resource for the US fans looking to know more about this great club.
