To be fair, was probably still reading the lineup card when the opener went in. Wasn’t bothered the rest of the match

Neco – 6
Responsible for keeping Gayle onside for the opener. Ran his socks off afterward. Solid and will only get better.

Gomez – 7
Clean and tidy. Had some really good one on one wins.

Van Dijk – 8
Imperial out of possession, dominant in possession. Got up well for the equalizer and almost got a second.

Robertson – 7
Back to his terrier best. Dogged in defense and quick going forward. His average is better than mosts bests.

Milner– 7
Probably the best choice to scrub in opposite of Jonjo. Typical industry and steel from ‘em.

Gini – 7
Played in the hole, highlighting his versatility. Neat and tidy and decent going forward. Can’t ask much else.

Keita – 8
The brightest of the lads, going forward. One of the few lads who will take players on one on one and create his own space. Some next-level vision and creativity going forward on the day.

Minamino – 6
Always on the cusps but not quite there. Belter of a shot, first half. Still looking for the end product.

Origi – 6
I was just yammering on for a solid 5 minutes to anyone who’d listen that he wasn’t good enough before he cuts in from the left and slaps one in… Like two left thumbs before that though…

Ox – 7
Struggled early on but stood a nice ball up to VVD for the equalizer and then was fairly tidy the rest of the match.

THE SUBS

Mane- 8
Worldie of a strike for the third. Terrifying on the counter. Almost unfair coming off the bench…

Firmino – 7
Comes on and makes two passes (to Salah & Keita) that probably no other striker in the world would be able to make.

Salah – 7
Creates space with his first touch and slaps it off the post. Always a danger, always in the mix.
