Liverpool vs Burnley Preview

Good Day Campiones!!! On Saturday the 19-time Champions of England take on Burnley, as their quest to smash every Premier League record continues! Burnley make the trek to Anfield to be a part of history. The Reds only need two more home wins to be the first club since Sunderland (in 1891-92) to go undefeated at home. Back then, Sunderland only needed thirteen wins. The weather is going to be absolutely brilliant with temps around 70 degrees and mostly sunny skies! All the action can be seen tomorrow at 10 am EST on NBCSN.

Injuries

Joel Matip is still sidelined with his foot injury, and news broke this morning that Captain Jordan Henderson will miss at least four matches (the rest of the season) with his knee. The good news is that Hendo will not need surgery and will still be able to commence “Operation Hendo Shuffle” (i.e. lifting the trophy) on the 22nd.

The Clarets look to have Chris Wood available, as the striker has come off the bench the last two matches and looks ready to start. Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady should be available, however manager Sean Dyche is being cautious with their injuries.

Previous Form

The champions have taken ten out of a possible 15 points from their last five matches. The form from the last five league matches is as follows:
W (3-1 BHA); W (2-0 AVL); L (0-4 MCI); W (4-0 CRY); D (0-0 EVE).

Burnley sit on a 49 points in tenth place, currently one spot above (N)Everton. They have taken ten out of a possible 15 points from the previous five game matches. The results are as follows:
W (1-0 WHU); D (1-1 SHU); W (1-0 CRY); W (1-0 WAT); L (0-5 MCI).

Lineup and Predictions

The “Great Wall of Brazil” Alisson Becker is back between the sticks. The modern day William Wallace, Andy Robertson, reclaims his place at left back. The dynamic duo of Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dyke look to lock down central defense, and the Scouser in our team Trent Alexander-Arnold looks to continue to make his case as the best right back in the world. Naby Keita will be able to build on his recent success as he starts in the mid three along with Fabinho and Milner. The front three will return back to normal, as I can’t see Klopp sitting Mo with him being only three goals behind in the chase for the Golden Boot.

The scoreline will read 4-0 Reds with two goals from Mo, a goal from Bobby, and Naby Lad also finding the back of the net. Mo will collect his second straight MOTM.
