International Break Injuries

It’s the first day of friendlies and Liverpool stars Joe Gomez and Emre Can both went off with injuries!

Ten minutes into England’s game against the Netherlands, Joe Gomez went off the pitch with an ankle injury after an aerial duel.

He’d just returned to play for Liverpool after an ACL issue and was poised to be a favorite started for us at RB, as well as a hopeful for the England WC squad. No word on the severity of it, but he isn’t expected to join England for their second game.

Emre Can was subbed off against Spain with what seems to be the same back injury he had earlier this month. He’s already left the German squad to head back to Liverpool.

Dejan Lovren withdrew before the Croatian team left for their two games against Peru and Mexico in the USA. Future LFC player Naby Keita was unable to join Guinea after he sustained a bruised spine during RB Leipzig’s win against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
