Liverpool vs Burnley Preview

Good Day fellow Reds!!!!!! Saturday at 12:30 pm ET, Liverpool F.C. take the fifty-two mile trip to Turf Moore Stadium to battle Burnley F.C.  The Clarets currently reside in sixth place with four points. That leaves them only one point out of the top four. The Reds are going to be in a battle as we all know that Sean Dyche will have his team ready to kick away. Lest we forget that this was the fixture in which Joe Gomez had his leg broken last season.  The weather is going to hover around sixty degrees with spots of sun and a chance of a rain shower. Should make for an interesting match to say the least. All the action can be seen on NBC here in the States!

Injuries

Still of course the biggest question on everyone’s mind is the condition of Alisson’s Calf injury. When asked about it in his weekly presser Klopp said, “He [has] made steps, of course, but it was a proper injury, so it will still take time.”   It sounds like they are in no hurry to rush him back, and with Adrian in the form he’s currently in, that seems like the right choice. I think he’s maybe back in time for the London Plastics on the 22nd. Once again, the only other name on the injury list is Naby. He still looks to be out for a couple of more weeks as well.

For Burnley, Johann Berg Gudmundsson has been ruled out with a calf strain. Robbie Brady is also out due to a rib injury he picked up, though he did play 75 min in a friendly against Huddersfield mid-week.

Previous Form

European Royalty has started the season perfect taking nine from nine points. Their previous form is as follows. W(4-1 Norwich City). W(2-1 So’Ton). W(3-1 Arsenal).

Burnley has taken four from a possible nine points. Their Previous form is as follows.  W(3-0 So’Ton). L(2-1 Arsenal). D(1-1 Wolves).

Lineup and Prediction

While there is some thought that Klopp could rotate the squad a bit, I don’t foresee any crazy changes with the International Break looming.

YO Adrian will be in Goal. Robbo, Joel, the EUROPEAN DEFENDER AND PLAYER OF YEARRRRRRRR, Mr. Virgil Van Dijk, and Trent make up the back four. However, don’t be surprised to see Gomez get a run out here. With this type of matchup, we’re going to need the grinders in the mid-field. Fabinho, Hendo, and Milno…eh doesn’t fit does it?…feck it, it does. Although, Shaq does have to play at some point doesn’t he?? If so, look for him instead of James. Up front, I can see Divock to start in place of Mane. Sadio never really had a proper break. Maybe this is Klopp’s chance to manufacture it with giving him the week off, before an additional two. Then of course you go with Mo and Bobby.

Speaking of Bobby, my man is on a different planet right now. Some of those touches and flicks against Arsenal look like he’s out there playing a video game. I saw a quote which I think describes him perfectly. “If you watch the match, you may miss Bobby. But if you watch Bobby, you’ll see the whole match.” That’s pretty deep if you ask me.

So lets go with him as the MOTM. It’ll be a tough contest. Burnley is very solid at home, but cream always rises to the top. Water always finds it level. The Reds channel their inner Wendy’s and go four for four before the break. 3-0 Good Guys!
