Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday at 11:30 am et, the first place Reds return to action, welcoming Tottenham Hotspur to the fortress that is Anfield. The mighty Liverpool come into this match on 76 pts, one point clear of the table! Spurs come in to this match on 61 pts, which is barely good enough for third. They are curretly one point clear of the top four. The weather looks to be spectacular with temps in the mid fifties and an abundstance of sunshine. Should make for a fantastic playing surface, and a really well played game!

Injury News

Not much has changed in terms of this list for before the international break. Trent cut his international duty short to return to Melwood and rehab a back injury that has plagued him since the Burley match. Shaq stayed at home nursing a groin injury, and Naby Keita is still dealing with that mysterious inury. While all three have participated n training this week, the gaffer let on that all three could feature this weekend, but its a wait and see approach. Joe Gomez was a full participant in training and is available. I expect him to make a late cameo if anything though. Ox is still nursing the hamsting injury picked up in his return for the U-23s. Jurgen said that they will not rush him back this time.

Tottenham’s injury news is much more blase. Eric Dier is questionable with a muscular type injury, while Serge Aurier is doubtful with a hamstring.

Previous Form

Liverpool’s previous five league results are as follows: W(2-1 Ful). W(4-2 Burnley). D(0-0 Eve). W(5-0 Wat). D(0-0 Scum). Eleven from a possible fifteen points.

Tottenhams previous five legue results are as follows: L(1-2 SoTon). D(1-1 Ars). L(0-2 Chels). L(1-2 Burnley). W(3-1 Lei). That’s only good for four out of a possible fifteen points. But hey, Death, Taxes, and Spurs are gonna Spur at the end of the season.

Lineup and Prediction

Alisson in a GK. I think Milly will line up at RB to give Trent a little bit more time to recover. The Player of the Year will partner with Joel Matip at CB. Robbo in at LB. The midfield will feature Gini, Fab, and Hendo. Then of course, up front will be Mane, Bobby, and Mo.

3-1 Reds, with Mo getting a brace and earning MOTM honors.
